"Selling the war"

it was very interesting to watch the program about how media contributed US to start the war. see - http://www.pbs.org/ US gov didn't have firm evidence about the relationship between Al Quida and Sadam Hussein(and Iraq) but they kept talking about its "possibility" over and over. Many media reported that over and over(they shouldna done that). it was almost a Hypodermic Needle model. it was surprising that President said "We cannot wait for final proof" in Oct 7th 2002. 5months later, he started war. Almost all media kept making bubbles around the small pieces of fact. Some people said "Hey, wait! Is it true? Can we afford that??" but it was vanished into the other "news".
Also, there were many propaganda in this country. Pat Tilman (died in Iraq, from missuse of gun(?) but gov told he died in the war) and Jessika Lynch (captured in Iraq and rescued by US army, but it was lie(she swared that in Congress)).
The issue is "info judgement." Media should have protect people from tons of lies from gov. that's their role.
